Lois Cook
Wide Receiver for The DC Divas
Never limit yourself based on other peoples’ opinions.
As an advocate for women’s sports, Social Media Influencer, Commentator, TV/Radio Host, and single mom of 4 boys, Lois Cook began her love of football at an early age, where she wanted to be the first woman in the NFL. In 2002, her dream somewhat came true as she began her football career with the Atlanta Leopards - which was not quite the NFL but for her, even better: all women’s pro football. After her return home to Washington, DC in 2004, Lois sought out the DC Divas where she has been a Quarterback, Defensive Back, Director of Community Relations, and where she now still plays as a Wide Receiver and serves as the Vice President of the team.
Lois started a non-profit organization in 2020, FTBLR, designed to empower women and girls through football, to educate and mentor both boys and girls, and to bring more access and opportunities to young girls. In 2021, Lois coached high school football at the same high school that she attended and was denied the opportunity to play. The team went undefeated for the first time in over 40 years. She then moved on to coach with the NFL Alumni Academy.
Lois was selected as a Wide Receiver for the 2022 USA Women’s National Tackle Team and has been awarded the 2018 Hard Hat Award, 2019 Owner’s award, the 2021 Daddy Nat award for Selfless Service, among numerous flag football MVP and championship titles for her performance and dedication to the game.
