“Kyle Chalmers OAM is one of the nation’s most accomplished and recognisable sportsman.”
Kyle Chalmers OAM is one of the nation’s most accomplished and recognisable sportsman who has established himself as Australia’s Golden Boy in the pool. Born in Port Lincoln, he became a household name by winning Gold in the 100m men’s freestyle final at the 2016 Rio Olympics as an 18-year-old, in addition to two Bronze medals in the relays.
Further domination followed at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast where Kyle won four Gold Medals and one Silver Medal to add to his impressive medal haul. After overcoming serious injury concerns in 2020, he returned to the pool ahead of the 2021 Tokyo Olympics and in a memorable swim finished 0.06 seconds short of defending his men’s 100m freestyle title to claim Silver in an inspired performance.
Kyle won three more Gold Medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham to consolidate his status as the most dominant Australian male swimmer of his generation. In 2021, the swim superstar headlined Amazon Prime’s Original docuseries Head Above Water and has and continues to be the public face of several advertising campaigns for some of the country’s most recognisable brands including Optimum Nutrition, Arena, San Remo, and Wahl.
